Consistency is really fucking important. Many artists will knock one good release out of the park and then drown in irrelevance thereafter, because nothing followed. For Arkhtinn, consistency seems to be as natural and easy as breathing in your sleep. Not only do they never release anything subpar, they instead seem to improve with every release. V contains the meanest of all their black metal tracks so far, combined with the most fragile and beautiful ambient piece. De rigueur!

Blackened funeral doom. Easier to listen to than Innsmouth because the vocals aren't nearly as fishy.

Prenez d'un côté l'idée d'un successeur à Alunar, un album déjà très bon à la base qui nous faisait accomplir une odyssée intergalactique jusqu'au néant ; ajoutez maintenant le fait de concevoir ce successeur en parallèle à l'enregistrement de Tchornobog. Vous voilà avec Aurora Borealis, une des sorties les plus imposantes de Markov Soroka ! Un black metal cosmique qui progresse avec fulgurance, si beau qu'il donne des frissons. Et toujours ce clocher qui sonne, et qui sonne, et qui résonne...

This album seems to get better after every listen. And I have stopped counting how many times I have listened. The pinnacle of atmospheric black metal is close to being achieved; it's definitely quintessential.
